WHAT IS CYCLE TESTING?
Cycle testing is a methodical, repetitive process used to simulate a battery’s long-term, real-world operation. Its primary purpose is to determine the cycle life: how many charge and discharge cycles the battery can complete before its capacity falls below of its initial rating.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT
Cycle testing reliably indicates a battery’s capacity and longevity, ensuring maximum return on investment over the product’s lifespan. Many standard lithium-ion battery packs are rated for just 300 to 500 charge cycles before their capacity significantly diminishes.
We are pleased to report that after 1,500 cycles, QIKPAC still retains an impressive 88.6% of its original capacity. This performance demonstrates QIKPAC’s reliability, longevity, and strong value as a long-term investment for customers. 1500 cycles represents nearly six years of daily weekday use.
Based on our test results QIKPAC is predicted to deliver around 2,700 cycles (over 10 years!) before capacity drops to 70%. Testing was done in a non-temperature-controlled environment, so real-world performance could be better!
To prolong the life of QIKPAC the battery management system (BMS) limits charging to 90% of capacity and discharge to 10% of capacity.
Programming QIKPAC to operate within the 90–10% range reduces battery stress. Combined with our high-quality cells, proprietary cell balancing, and advanced safety algorithms, this approach significantly slows the aging process. This means you get more years of reliable performance from each QIKPAC battery before any noticeable drop in capacity.
