UTS: Repurposing Workstations

The recently completed UTS student area fitout accommodates a diverse range of spatial needs, from open collaborative areas to quiet zones, with most spaces featuring repurposed furniture.

Power has been conveniently integrated into the front of the bench seating base boards using OE Elsafe PUMA power units. Each unit includes general power outlets and TUF-R HP USB modules for charging laptops, phones, and tablets.

Eight above-surface PEAK table boxes have been installed in the student study area, providing convenient access to AC power sockets and TUF-R HP USB modules for charging laptops, phones, and tablets.

The project was completed using OE cable management solutions, including PRODIGY cable baskets and PATHFINDER umbilicals, to deliver power from the ceiling to the workstations.

TUF-R USB modules are simple to replace without the need to turn off the power or call an electrician. Replacing or upgrading TUF-R modules and not the whole product saves time, resources, and reduces waste.

R is for Reversible

TUF-R includes the world’s first reversible Type-A port, enabling a first-time connection every time. Connectors can be inserted both ways, cutting down on wear and damage from unsuccessful attempts and extending the life of the module and the product it is fitted into.
